NFMC Hosts Community BBQ Fundraiser for Marathon High School Graduation Committee

Well, that’s a wrap on the 2024 Marathon High School (MHS) Graduation/Prom. From all of us at NFMC, congratulations to all of the MHS graduates!
Recently, NFMC hosted a Community BBQ Fundraiser to help raise money for the Marathon High School’s Graduation Committee.
It may have been a foggy, cool and damp day, but that didn’t dampen NFMC’s and community spirits in helping raise $1024.30 in support of Marathon High School’s Graduation Committee. On Wednesday, June 19 from 11:30 to 1:30pm, locals of all ages came out to support the event and help make the event a success. Grade 12/upcoming graduating student, Sawyer Redden, stepped up to the task to wear the MHS Falcons outfit and help increase traffic from Hemlo Drive to NFMC’s tent, where warm food awaited. CFNO was also live on location with Al Cresswell.
The Grill Master for the day was NFMC’s General Manager, Carmelo Notarbartolo, and helpers included NFMC’s Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator, Brett Redden, NFMC’s Silviculture Supervisor, Scott Seaman, CFNO’s Lynn Cregheur, and Nico Jessome, upcoming MHS graduate, assisted with passing out burgers, hotdogs, cookies and water during the event. Shout out to NFMC’s Planning Forester, Alaina Vandervoort, for helping with the tent set up and NFMC staff for helping with post event tear down and clean up.
Barrick Gold showed its support by donating usage of their BBQ equipment and Gus and Arlene from Sirard-
Independent Grocer donated cookies and water so as to add a little extra incentive to patrons. None of this would be possible without the support from local community members who stopped in to make donations and support NFMC’s Community BBQ Fundraiser.
