NFMC Visits Columbia Forest Products Sawmill (Hearst, ON)

Recently, NFMC welcomed the opportunity to visit Columbia Forest Products (CFP) sawmill operations in Hearst, ON. CFP Director Forest Resources & Log Procurement, Dan Bowes, CFP Operations Woodlands Supervisor, Steve Thuerig, and CFP Plant Manager, Pascal Sigouin, met with NFMC’s General Manager, Carmelo Notarbartolo, and Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator, Brett Redden, to discuss NFMC’s Strategic Initiatives Program (SIPs). The SIP’s Program is intended to assist First Nation communities, municipalities, and industry in bringing forward eligible, forestry-related projects affecting the NFMC management area. Ideally, these initiatives will develop capacity and promote, attract and support economic growth in the existing and emerging forestry sector.
