NFMC Attends Multiple Events to Promote Forestry

Last week, NFMC attended numerous planned functions to help promote forestry as well speak with the public about its role within its management area.
On Tuesday, Senior Forest Operations Technical Specialist, Joshua DeJong, and Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator, Brett Redden, were invited to attend the Netmizaaggamig Nishnaabeg Health Services Community Engagement Dinner at the Pic Mobert Elementary School. The event featured various local businesses and organizations.
Wednesday, General Manager, Carmelo Notarbartolo, and Brett provided an information session to the Indigenous Peoples & Natural Resources class at Lakehead University. The class is composed of 100 students, 30 undergrads combined with 70 master’s students.
Thursday, Carmelo and Brett attended the Annual Dougall Media Career Fair from 10am-7pm at the Valhalla Inn in Thunder Bay.
Thank you to all of the organizers and volunteers for making these events possible.
Again, these events provide an excellent opportunity for NFMC to engage with the public to let them know what we do, who were are, what programs we offer, and what careers are available within the forestry industry. NFMC is always happy to be a part of these initiatives.
