NFMC’s Annual Community BBQ Fundraiser Supports Biigtigong Food Drive and Marathon Community Collective
NFMC’s Annual Community BBQ Fundraiser was hosted on Monday, September 15, from 11:30 to 1:30pm.
Thank you to everyone for the great show of support at our recent Community BBQ which raised money for the Biigtigong Food Bank and Marathon Food Bank! It was a fantastic day filled with delicious food, laughter, and a wonderful sense of community. A total of $1642.20 was raised during the event with all proceeds shared equally.
Following the BBQ, NFMC stopped into Marjorie House in Marathon, to donate some BBQ goodies.
This event would not have been possible without the support of NFMC staff, local organizations, and local residents. Special thanks to Rachelle and Gerard’s-Marathon’s Your Independent Grocer provided a generous food donation; monetary business contributions from Biigtigong Dbenjgan, Murray Watson- Marathon Home Hardware & Mahsa Shidvash-Owner of Marathon Canadian Tire; Barrick Gold for the use of their BBQ supplies; and Al Cresswell on doing a great job during CFNO’s LIVE ON LOCATION. Marathonians as well as residents from surrounding communities also came out to donate towards the cause.
Again, everyone’s support was greatly appreciated. Every penny donated will go a long way in helping others.
