NFMC Participates in 2015 Trade Show

On May first and second, 2015, the Nawiinginokiima Forest Management Corporation (NFMC) attended the Marathon and District Chamber of Commerce’s trade show.  The event provided an opportunity to residents from throughout the North Shore to find out more about the NFMC and the local forest management corporation (LFMC) governance concept.  The NFMC wishes to extend its thanks to the Marathon and District Chamber of Commerce for organizing such a successful event.

NFMC Participates in 2015 Forestry Expo

The Nawiinginokiima Forest Management Corporation (NFMC) had a booth at the 2015 Forestry Expo hosted by Nishnawbe Aski Development Fund in Thunder Bay on April 22nd and 23rd. The Expo was well attended and provided the NFMC an opportunity to raise awareness of the Corporation and discuss the challenges and successes it has incurred in its short history. This event also provided the opportunity to network with other individuals and companies in the forestry sector. Given the opportunities the Expo provided, the NFMC plans to attend again next year. The NFMC wishes to extend its thanks to the organizers of the Expo.

NFMC Celebrates Grand Opening of Marathon Office

The Nawiinginokiima Forest Management Corporation (NFMC) celebrated the opening of its permanent office in Marathon on December 17th, 2014. Present at the ribbon-cutting was Michael Gravelle, Minister of Northern Development and Mines; MPP Thunder Bay – Superior North. Also present were local Chiefs, Mayors, industry partners and the public.
